MAYOR RAS J. BARAKA TO HONOR 17-YEAR-OLD NEWARK AUTHOR KHALI RAYMOND

Mayor Ras J. Baraka and the City of Newark will honor 17-year-old Newark native, East Side High School student, and six-time published novelist Khali Raymond by hosting a book-signing of his work.

Mr. Raymond, who learned to read at age two and comes from a single-family home, began writing at age 11 and has published six books since 2014. The inspiration for his works comes from his life in Newark, and the urban forces that shaped him. His next project is a personal memoir.
